Sydney graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in Communication and Leadership and a BA in Dance. As the full time Director of Corporate Strategy for HTEDance, Sydney helps bridge our dancers with parade activities and community engagement.
Sydney also coordinates our marketing and public relations efforts for the parade.

Chuck Moon began teaching in 1993. He graduated from Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas where he was a TMEA All-State percussionist. Chuck Moon began teaching in 1993. He graduated from Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas where he was a TMEA All-State percussionist. Mr. Moon taught in South Texas for 12 years at both the middle school and high school levels. He then moved to the DFW Metroplex. He was Director of Bands at Ranchview High School (Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD) and Sachse High School (Garland ISD). He was the associate director of bands at Duncanville High School for 5
years. He finished his public teaching career at Red Oak High School. He retired in 2023 after 31 years of public-school teaching.
Mr. Moon’s ensembles and students have received consistent 1st division, Superior ratings, at UIL Marching, Solo and Ensemble, and Concert and Sight-Reading Contests. His bands have attended the UIL Area and State Marching Contest
on numerous occasions. His bands traveled widely throughout Texas and the United States and earned best in class/grand champion awards at many marching and concert band festivals . His bands have earned the distinction of being selected to the Area and State levels of the TMEA Honor Band Competition. In 2010, the
Ranchview Band was awarded 1st runner up at the final state level hearing for TMEA Honor Band.
Mr. Moon received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio (summa cum laude). In 2004, he received a Master’s of Music – conducting (summa cum laude) from Texas State University. Mr. Moon has
studied with Dr. Tom Shine (retired Director of Bands, Duncanville ISD), Mr. Eddie Green (retired Director of Bands,
University of Houston), Mr. John Stansberry (Texas State University – former Director of Bands), and David Mairs (Music Director – Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra).
Mr. Moon is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA), Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), and the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians (NAPBIRT). He served as the TMEA Region 20 Band Chair and the TMEA Area D Chair. He served the Texas Music Adjudicators Association as a committee member of the State Nominating Committee and the Committee for
Standards and Adjudication Practices (CSAAP). He is an active band adjudicator for both marching and concert bands.
Mr. Moon is currently employed as a Band Instrument Repair Technician in the Central Repair Department at Brook Mays Music Corporate Headquarters located in Dallas, Texas.

I am a retired Assistant Superintendent and has been involved with the Dallas Holiday Parade for 6 years. I am committed to creating the best team of Bleacher Hosts for our parade to ensure each child and family has an incredible experience!

This is my 27th year to be part of the Parade and it’s absolutely my favorite day of the year! We’ve been a Banner Clown, Street Clown then finally Pooper Scooper and now get to lead these amazingly fun and fabulous Clown Crews every year.
My full time job is in Sales, I’m a native Texan and I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1993.

One of my absolute favorite days of the year has always been the first Saturday in December… Dallas Holiday Parade Day!!!
I first volunteered in 1997 as a Bleacher Host, then stumbled upon the parade clowning world and honestly never looked back. First a Banner Clown, then a Street Clown, until I worked up the nerve to be a Pooper Scooper Clown. 20 years later I am still part of the Pooper Scooper Squad and some may even call me the # 2, Number 2.
